Apple HomeKit Products

Apple HomeKit Products – Apple is trying to streamline home automation.

Apple HomeKit Products – In other words: Apple wants to make it easier for smart accessories – like Philips Hue lights, Wink lights, and other smart speakers, thermostats, detectors, plugs, blinds, locks, sensors, etc – to communicate, and for you to connect and manage all the smart accessories in your home, even if they’re from various manufacturers. HomeKit is basically Apple’s framework for home automation.  Apple HomeKit Products

HomeKit is not a single control application but is instead a hardware certification platform and database system that allows developers to create hardware and to integrate that hardware with iOS to provide for easy discovery, configuration, management, and communication between a wide variety of smarthome products like locks, lights, security equipment, and other home automation products.  Apple HomeKit Products

Any manufacturer can implement HomeKit technology into their smart accessories. It was first announced at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference in 2014. The name is a combination of “home” for home automation and “kit” for software developer kit. HomeKit-enabled smart accessories are secure, easy to use, and work with iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and HomePod.  The following is a list of items compatible with Apple HomeKit and pricing available on the Apple website.  Read about all the products below:

Fully HomeKit-enabled, Onelink by First Alert Environment Monitor helps you ensure a healthy and comfortable environment in your baby’s room or any other part of your house by constantly monitoring air quality, temperature, and humidity with the app on your iPhone or iPad.

The environment monitor is a snap to set up. Once in place, it quickly starts identifying and alerting you to low-level carbon monoxide (CO), which is especially harmful to infants. If it detects extremely dangerous levels of CO the monitor sounds a loud siren. Temperature and humidity monitoring helps to ensure that your indoor environment is meeting your desired specifications. For instance, the illuminating LED ring on the monitor will change color, indicating shifts in temperature.

The monitor also offers push notifications that warn of unhealthy carbon monoxide levels or when room temperature or humidity changes.
